Match report by Wellsy
"We were crap" Nathan Cook, manager The Crown Devizes
Sutton Benger 4 - The Crown Devizes 2

Started the game with a 3-5-2 formation, a change to the favoured 4-4-2 formation of recent weeks. Ned Hillier was asked to play the holding role infront of the back 3 allowing Wells and Saunders to attack. This didn't happen! The Crown defended deep which let Sutton Benger attack in numbers, including their defenders! Wells didn't follow his runner who slotted the ball home from outside the box.
This resulted in a change to The Crowns formation going back to 4-4-2. This didn't prove effective as the crown were still struggling to make 5 yard simple passes. The Crown didn't create any chances to equalise before going 2-0 down. Sam Thompson came on at half time did little to influence the game. The Crown still lacking confidence and the ability to pass were soon 4-0 down, not through lack of effort by the defence. At this stage the manager decided to throw on his last 2 subs, Gaz Lavs and Scott Boote. It was at this point where the Crown started to pass the ball and start to play some flowing football. Patient build up found Gaz on left hand side of the area who cooly slotted home much to the disgust of Ned Hillier, now after his own goal the previous week, is now 3 goals down on Gaz. The Crown grew in confidence and kept the pressure on and a delightful ball over Sutton Bengers defence by Niall found Thomo, who appeared to be running in slow motion, who later assured everyone it was a sprint, hit the back of the net with a superb finish. Too little too late.

*I Would like to again apologise of the really bad spelling of the report, I can't be bothered to read it again or check, also these match reports are completely biased to that of the Crown Devizes FC, sorry but tough. Please also remember Bert is a real cat and has feelings.
